First Lesson : Basic Step

Hi, guys!
Call me Somi or Avel or Happy,
whatever you want.
This is our first lesson
and it will be about the basic
step to do Photoshop.

I am using Photoshop CS2 right now,
but I used to use Photoshop 7.0.
There is not much difference, but,
I hope amateurs use ver 7.0 first.

Okay, let's open photoshop first!

it's quite simple, isn't it?
so, let's see what are the tools.

hehe, i pressed the type tool,
which I use to type something.
That tool is 'horizontal type tool'.

I will name the tools:

Rectangular Marquee /Move
Magnetic Lasso / Magic wand
Crop / Slice
Spot healing brush / Brush
Clone stamp / History brush
Eraser/ Gradient
Blur / Burn
Path Selection / Horizontal Type
Pen / Rectangle
Notes / Eyedropper
Hand / Zoom
Foreground colour / Background colour
Edit it Standard Mode / Edit in Quick Mask Mode
Standard Screen / Full screen with menu bar / Full Screen
Edit in ImageReady

and more and more and more.

Now, you can guess all the functions from the name of all the tools.
Shall we learn how to make simple name tag ?

Justin Bieber Vintage Video: His First Meeting With Usher

Justin Timberlake also wanted to sign Bieber, 'Never Say Never' star said in 2009.

Just as the world was learning who Justin Bieber was, MTV News caught up with the shaggy-haired singer in September 2009. He was gearing up to release his debut album, My World, and plotting his pop-world domination. In the year and a half since that interview, Bieber has done the nearly impossible, launching himself into the pop mega-sphere.

In the chat, Bieber recalled how he and his manager, Scooter Braun, met and eventually got big names interested in signing the teen.

"My manager found me on YouTube. He flew me out to Atlanta for the first time — I'd never actually been on a plane before. He flew me to Atlanta where i was going to the studio to meet some people," he recalled.

"And Usher happened to roll up in his Range Rover. I ran up to him, and I was like, 'Usher, I love your songs. Want me to sing you one?' The politest possible way he could say no, he did. ... I took the hint. I didn't get to sing for him: He had to run into a studio session."

But later, Usher was beckoning the teen back to the ATL. "He actually watched my videos — after my manager got to talking to him — and was like, 'I should have let this kid sing,' and flew me back to Atlanta where I got to sing for him in a proper setting. A week later, I had a meeting with Justin Timberlake, who also wanted to sign me, so they both kind of wanted me."

As the story goes, Bieber went with Usher, and the two never looked back.

"As far as Usher being my mentor, he's definitely given me words of wisdom. I hear it from everybody, but definitely to hear it from Usher is great, just to stay humble and grounded is very important," he explained.

"There's a lot of people, especially young stars, that have gone down the wrong path, and I definitely plan to stay humble and stay grounded and keep my family first, because that stuff really is important in life."

On Friday, Justin Bieber's 3-D documentary, "Never Say Never," opens. The film takes a look at how the teen star worked to hit it big. MTV News has been chatting with him along the way, from the time he first burst on the scene in 2009 until now, as he embarks on a huge 2011 that will include a tour and more new music.

First Camera Makes $775,000

Mike O'Donoghue writes to tell us that "the Susse Frères black softwood box (1839) went for 480,000€ Saturday at the Westlicht auction here in Vienna. That makes 576,000€ [about 5,000 or £390,400] with fees."

First Step Toward Organ Regeneration in Humans

Research conducted at Stanford University suggests that humans may one day be able to regenerate damaged organs and nerves, and possibly even regrow limbs. This research has focused on primitive animals such as the sea squirt, which can heal itself in ways that higher-order animals cannot. By understanding the way in which animals repair damaged body parts, scientists hope to be able to replicate such processes in humans.

Yesterdayday was first meat day

Edit: Today was fillet steak, OK so long as the piece is big enough to be sucked on without getting it all in her mouth at once...

Apparently babies are revolted by meat, just ask any vegan idiot

Britain Piloting First Biofueled Train

Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Group has embarked on yet another venture -- Virgin Trains, which seeks to replace traditional diesel trains with models run on biofuel.

Virgin Trains' pilot project will test a train running on 20% biological material (typically a type of vegetable oil) in Britain for six months. If the test is successful, Virgin Trains will use the 20% mix full-time, with an eye toward engines run purely on biofuel. Virgin Trains says that switching to biodiesel could cut emissions by 14%.

My First Design in 99designs Contest

Already from a few months ago I've created an account 99designs and only a few months ago I knew 99designs. 99designs It is a place for designers to take the time to be able to compete with other designers to create a design that was preferred by the contest organizers.

Indeed, the results can be obtained from 99designs large enough, even very tempting. But the competition is very Difficult if We Can not Make a design That Catches the attention of the organizers of the contest. We must also be Able to Compete to Make a nice design and does not follow the design of others. Because if We follow the design of others, it is plagiarism lol.

Ok we are back to the original topic, so for several months now I just create an account 99designs no contest at all. But in July I tried to enter a contest organized by community hrs daily. Hr daily design community wanted a banner sized 160x300 and 468x60. Here is a design that I created.

Design a banner that I made was not getting the attention of the organizers of the contest, so the banner that I made did not win the contest. But the design banner I did not look attractive, because a design that I created just a simple design. I am just a beginner new to the design that have not been able to master the technique of design, I can only make a simple design that lol. Good luck for designers who want to compete there, at 99designs :)
